Purity

I always hear about purity when people are talking about girls and it seems like the boys are supposed to be boys and experience things. Maybe because boys are visual and you really can't do anything to keep them from seeing things that are out there. I don't know, I just know that I want my boys to be as pure as they can be at this time in this world.
I wish that I could turn back the clock and start all over with raising them, I would get rid of the TV or at least the antennae and carefully pick movies and video games for them to watch and play.
We would talk about things that are out there in the world, because you see I fell in to the world on a lot of things to do with a boys purity. I have only been thinking the way I do now for about five years, They are now well into the teen years, can I work at undoing what I had allowed into their lives.
I am praying that I can and some steps I have started to help them in this:
*We do not go to the mall, the mall is a visual battle ground for young men. Both because of the ladies shopping and the displays are a visual danger.

*We do not allow sexually explicit movies or video games, sadly other mothers of boys do not agree with me.

* I try to model modesty in the way I dress and the way I behave, when I do not the boys really let me know.
* in June we are letting are TV reception go, we are opting out of the black box for our TV. People are freaking out about this whole thing, yes we like some things on TV but if it is really important to us we can watch on the computer.
Am I doing enough? I hope so. Their hearts and minds are so very important to me.

Hello

Hello to Raising Men of Honor, a blog about a fallible mom trying to raise Godly men of honor.
I knew I had to do something because I can never find really good blogs about christian families raising men. There are really great blogs that are about raising maidens of virtue and there are really great blogs about taking care of your home. I love most that I find and there are a few that I bookmark for myself, I just haven't found any that are about raising boys.
Someone is going to tell me about some really good blogs about raising boys and that are out there and I would be happy to find them.
I love being the mother of only boys, I have three. they are what God knew I needed even though, every time I was pregnant I wanted a girl( yes the princess and tea party thing and the pretty dresses were what I really wanted). I now have a granddaughter and I will get to do the princess and the tea party thing and buy the pretty dresses. But this is about my men.
